LORD LARGE

Includes a female singer, 2 x saxophones, trumpet, trombone, keyboards, guitar, bass, drums, percussion.

Lord large Experiment is a 10 piece band who play a mix of motown, soul and funk along with playing some original tunes from their debut album 'The Lord's First Eleven'.

With their funky organ grooves, driving rhythm and percussion sections along with some great choreographed dance moves by the 4 piece brass section, these guys know how to have fun on stage and recreate the sound of 60s Motown and soul.

The live band is fronted by Andrea Britton who's solo career has included many chart successes around the world with hit singles such as 'Counting down the Days' which was the most requested song in dance clubs all over Latin America and Brazil!
Andrea has shared the stage with Dave Randall on his project 'Slovo' and has toured with Lamb, Moloko and Damian Rice. She supported Kylie Monogue on her 'Fever' tour and more recently supported Kelly Rowland.
Do not expect a quiet night!

History

Lord Large is a collaboration between drummer/producer Andy Jones of 2bit-Recording and pianist Stephen 'Lord' Large. Stephen has filled the role as keyboard player in the band 'Squeeze', a position initially held by Jools Holland and has recently recorded and performed with artists such as Noisettes, Pete Doherty, Blur’s Graham Coxon and Motown legend Martha Reeves. Stephen has also recently been musical director for Duffy's live band following the success of her debut album 'Rockferry' and the release of her second album. Numerous TV appearances have included keyboard surfing on TOTP with the E.S.P., dueting with Glenn Tilbrook on Later with Jools, being very Cool For Cats with Squeeze on Al Murray, swinging with Rod Stewart on the Parkinson show and conducting Duffy's live band on the Jay Leno show.

The band live in south east London and is where they have recorded their debut album 'The Lord's First Eleven' which was released on Acid Jazz in 2007 and features vocal performances from the following singing legends: Clem Curtis (The Foundations), Dean Parrish, Robert Bradley, Glenn Tibrook (Squeeze), Andrea Britton, Ashley Slater (Freak Power), Linda Lewis, Roy Philips (The Peddlers).

Lord Large's debut single 'Left Right & Centre' was a collaboration between the band, Paul Weller, and Northern-Soul legend Dean Parrish. Along the way help has come from Wigan Casino founder Russ Winstanley, Ocean Colour Scene/Weller guitarist Steve Cradock, and Corduroy bassist Richard Searle, amongst others. Paul wrote this tune when he was 15 years old, and the track was forgotten about until recently when a bootleg of the youthful Jam demo was passed the band's way. Hope you like the result.
